Historic downtown Franklin has homes going back to before the Civil War. The Battle of Franklin was fought here in November 1864 - through streets lined with properties that are still standing. Victorian and Antebellum homes on Main Street and the surrounding blocks, some with garage additions built decades after the original house, some with carriage structures converted long after horses stopped being the point.
Three miles west, Westhaven started in 2003. Master-planned, 1,500 acres, town center, golf course. First homes went in around 2004 and 2005. Fieldstone Farms, McKay's Mill, Sullivan Farms, Polk Place - those went in through the 1990s.
